How do I prevent a clay tennis court from freezing?

I work at a tennis club with 6 hard-tru courts. Each winter the courts get destroyed due to freezing. Before each freeze I put 50 pounds of calcium chloride on each court. The goal of this is to prevent the courts from softening from the freezes. It is very expensive and does nothing at all. WHAT CAN I DO?!
