Question about amp settings?

I want to get the most out of my system but I don't know what settings will do that for my amp. I have a Sony Xplod 1200 watt amp and a pair of 12 inch MTX Terminator subs rated at 1200 watts, 400 RMS. The settings that I'm talking about are: level / low boost (40Hz) / filter / LPF. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
