12 minutes for a two mile run?

I did a race the other day (2 mile one) and came 10th out of 131 pplz and got 12:10 in it. Is this a good time as I am thinking of joining school athletics for mid distance running an wondering if this time is good enough. Another time I did was 3:40 for a 1k, is this a good time.., many thanks for all ur help pplz
