Vampire Diaries on the cw?

So the last episode I saw of the show was when Elana got a a car accident after driving home from Stefan's after seeing a picture of Katherine at the end. I've seen since that episode have been repeats.And I checked my tv guide, but its saying that for the next few weeks its only going to be re runs of the show. is the season over? was that like the season finale? Or will there be a new episode soon?
